Chelsea And City Among Four Teams Vying For Tottenham Contract Rebel

Chelsea and Manchester City are both interested in Tottenham attacking midfielder Christian Eriksen, according to AS.

The Madrid-based publication quotes an unnamed source close to the Danish international that says that many clubs across Europe are keen on the playmaker:

“It’s hard to name just one particular top-level club who are keeping a close eye on him because there are sides from England, Spain, Italy and Germany.”

AS believe that Real Madrid, the Blues, City and Barcelona are all likely to be ready to make an offer for Eriksen if the 26-year-old decides to leave Spurs.

Currently, the Dane has a contract with the London club until 2020 but negotiations over a new deal are believed to have stalled, with the two sides far apart on an agreement.

Real have enquired about Eriksen’s availability in the past but were quoted a figure of €250m by Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy.

However, if the player heads into the last 12 months of his contract next summer, the fee is likely to be much lower. Still, Spurs would likely sell abroad rather than offload the midfielder to a Premier League rival.
