Chelsea and Arsenal Coy On Aubameyang

Chelsea have joined Arsenal in weighing up a move for Borussia Dortmund forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

The 26-year-old striker netted 16 goals for Dortmund last season, finishing as their top scorer in the Bundesliga. The Gabonese international is best known for his pace and agility, as well as his versatility along the front line.

It is thought that Mourinho is interested in bringing in a new striker this summer, with Radamel Falcao being his number 1 priority. However, with both Drogba and Remy set to leave, it may be that the Chelsea boss looks for another striker to fill the void left. As earlier mentioned, Aubameyang is also capable of playing on the left, meaning Mourinho would be signing a player with plenty of versatility.

Arsenal are also said to be interested in the the forward, and it is claimed that Wenger’s interest in the pacey attacker stems from when Arsenal played Dortmund in the Champions League back in September. Arsenal would probably be a better suited destination for the striker, with the club actively seeking a new forward. However with Jackson Martinez’s move in doubt, it could be that Aubameyang is an option for Wenger.

It is unclear whether or not Dortmund will allow their player to leave, with the club already set to lose various stars as well as their manager.

But Aubameyang is a player who would be suited to most sides, his pace and ability to find the net is something no club would turn down.
