Chelsea And Arsenal Are BOTH Pursuing Porto Star With 65M Release Clause

Chelsea and Arsenal are interested in signing Porto winger Pepe, according to A BOLA (via Tuttomercatoweb.com).

The Brazilian has been linked with the two clubs before but it appears they could battle it out for the player’s signature during the January transfer window.

Pepe has a €75m (£65m) release clause, although his performances this season do place a question mark on whether it would be worth spending that kind of money on him.

The 25-year-old did provide two assists against Pacos de Ferreira at the weekend, but his two goals in 19 appearances isn’t a particularly impressive return.

What is notable about Pepe, though, is the number of positions that he plays. Porto boss Sergio Conceicao has selected him at right back, left wingback, left wing, right wing and as a number 10 already this campaign. He is very much a utility player that manager Graham Potter could have a lot of uses for.
