Chelsea are one of four main “suitors” for Juventus centre-back Merih Demiral, according to Turkish publication Fanatik.
The news outlet claims that the Blues are “lining up to sign” the 23-year-old, along with Newcastle, Real Madrid and Napoli.
Demiral is currently impressing on a loan spell at Atalanta but he is expected to be sold by Juve at the end of the season.
The Turkish international was a big fan of former Manchester United defender Nemanja Vidic when he was growing up and he has modelled his game on the Serbian.
Chelsea are likely to be in the market for a new centre-half next summer, with doubts over the futures of Cesar Azpilicueta, Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rudiger.
However, while Demiral may well be a player that the club have scouted, he is not likely to be among the main targets. Recent reports suggest that Sevilla’s Jules Kounde and Leicester’s Wesley Fofana are higher up the list of priorities.
