Chelsea Agree To Permanent Deal For One Of The 33 Players On Loan

The Blues have 33 players out on loan, most of which have been tied to Chelsea for a while now. Unfortunately, quantity has not turned into quality as several of the players have failed to prove anything over the past couple of seasons. It is not even a matter of chance given the fact that Chelsea made sure each and every one of those players have the opportunity to play. Something is definitely going on as far as the scouting department goes. Almost none of the youngsters who came to Stamford Bridge during the past couple of years managed to make themselves noticed. Even the bigger transfers such as Salah, Cuadrado, Schurrle or Pedro have had trouble reaching their full potential.

A winter clean-up might be in place though as 33 players are way too many even for a club as big as Chelsea. The first person to leave for good is Ulises Davila. The 24-year-old who has been with the club since 2011 has never made an appearance for Chelsea and barely got to play during his 5 years spent in Europe. According to the Sunday Express, Davila has reached an agreement with Santos Laguna and will be returning to his home country. It is very likely that some of the other names scattered across the continent will go down the same path. The most likely to finally end their loan streaks and sign permanent deals are Marko Marin, Piazon, Marco Van Ginkel, Moses and Salah. They have been around for a while and had absolutely no impact on the way Chelsea played. Hopefully the Blues will get some money back and invest it in one or two new players who will actually play for the London side.
