Cesc Fabregas Joins Chelsea In Major Transfer Coup For Jose Mourinho

Well we were disappointed when Frank Lampard announced he was leaving the Blues after a 13 year trophy filled stay but it is hard not to be jumping around when you consider the major transfer coup Jose Mourinho and Roman Abramovich have pulled off in the signing today of Cesc Fabregas from Barcelona as reported by the BBC. Fabregas should prove to be an excellent replacement for Lampard and it shows that Chelsea are now seen as the most desirable destination in the Premier League as Fabregas could have certainly gone back to former club Arsenal or either Manchester team.

The Spanish midfield maestro spoke of “unfinished business” in England’s Barclays Premier League, when signing a five year deal with Chelsea and said “I considered all the other offers very carefully and I firmly believe that Chelsea is the best choice,” which must be particularly disappointing to Manchester United and incoming coach Louis van Gaal.

The fee involved is reportedly in the £30million region and seemingly Arsenal turned down the chance to exercise their buy back clause so Chelsea jumped at the chance and Fabregas will be comfortable returning to a city he knows well only now he will be in Blue and in West London, not in red and in North London.
