Chelsea showed fans once again how powerful they are this season after an impressive win against Newcastle. The Blues dominated the match in the second half and left no gaps for their adversaries who could only hope and watch. One of the most important things about the game was the fact that Cech was number one again. According to the Daily Mail, a finger injury kept Courtois out and allowed the former captain to take his familiar spot. He contributed a lot to the victory and was one of the best players on the pitch despite playing just a couple of games this season.

Cech praised the entire team’s performance after the game even though he was probably among the top three performers after Oscar and Costa. He kept the goal intact and reminded fans why he was number one for over a decade. Unfortunately for him, Courtois is still in the same great shape if you count out the injury.

Chelsea will count on Cech on several occasions this season especially after Steve Holland has counted out around 60 matches for this season. The players will have to be rested at points considering the season is only half gone. Most see Chelsea as the favorites to win the Premier League but have doubts when it comes to the Champions League. Even though they are extremely strong, they still have to handle teams like Bayern or Real who are on the same level as the Blues and possibly ahead of them slightly depending on who you are talking to.
