Cascarino Backing Chelsea To Finish Above Arsenal Under Lampard

Ex-Chelsea striker Tony Cascarino thinks the Blues will finish above Arsenal this season under manager Frank Lampard.

He believes his former side simply have a better squad than the Gunners, despite their transfer ban, and he also expects Lampard’s team to challenge for a top-four spot:

“Frank’s got a better squad than Arsenal. He’s going to have to be expected to finish in front of Arsenal and you could argue get in the top four as well.”

“People are looking at it and saying maybe they won’t get that and they should sacrifice this season, but I don’t believe for one second Chelsea Football Club will do that.”

With Manchester City and Liverpool again expected to fight it out over the title, it will likely leave two other places up for grabs for the Champions League.

Manchester United are going through a transition under the management of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer while Arsenal’s troubles with recruitment this summer may see them fall behind their rivals.

Tottenham have already made a statement with the signing of Lyon’s Tanguy Ndombele for £65m and you would expect them to be there or thereabouts for the top four.

In terms of the odds for who will win the league, Oddschecker have Manchester City as the favourite at the bookies, with Chelsea best priced at 33/1 with Betway to lift the trophy.

With regards to finishing in the top four, Sky Bet have City, Liverpool, Tottenham and United as the four favourites, with the Blues currently fifth on the list at 6/5.
