Cahill Doubtful For Chelsea’s Crunch City Clash

The Englishman started Chelsea’s away game at West Bromwich Albion on Tuesday night. He came through the first half unscathed, however was unfortunate in the second half when he complained about some damage to his calf while colliding with a West Brom player.

Despite the pain, Cahill carried on for the entire game – which has possibly worsened things. He is now set to undergo examinations on the injury which will reveal the extent of the damage done, as reported by TEAMtalk. He spoke after the 1-1 draw where he said, “Once I got the knock, I was struggling from then on,”

“It happened when a West Brom player went for a header and I was on the floor. He landed just inside my knee/calf. It is sore and we’ll see what it’s like today.”

Cahill’s injury could not come at a worse time as Chelsea’s FA Cup clash against Manchester City is this weekend. With such an important game on the horizon, it would be a bonus for Jose Mourinho to have all his options available to him. However by the looks of it, it seems like he could be just a bit short of options to feature in the game.
