Burnley V Chelsea: Match Preview And Betting Odds

Chelsea manager Frank Lampard was delighted with the performance of his young stars against Ajax last night. The 1-0 win in Holland means they have now won six consecutive games.

It will give the Blues massive confidence heading into a difficult game versus Burnley at Turf Moor. Sean Dyche’s side lost to Leicester City last time out but it was their first defeat since the end of August.

Chelsea will be without Antonio Rudiger once again this weekend. The German is back in training but Lampard has confirmed the defender is still not ready to make his first-team comeback after a groin issue.

Ross Barkley could be back following an ankle injury he picked up against Newcastle, but N’Golo Kante is a major doubt after picking up a groin problem.

Andreas Christensen will also still be missing due to a hamstring injury, while Ruben Loftus-Cheek (Achilles) and Marco van Ginkel (knee) are both still unavailable.

Burnley have four injury concerns ahead of Saturday’s game. Jack Cork could make his return from a shoulder injury, and so could Ashley Barnes who is managing a groin issue.

Johann Berg Gudmundsson is out with a thigh problem while Danny Drinkwater is ineligible to play against his parent club, even if he recovers from an ankle injury.

The bookmakers have Chelsea as favourites to win with Unibet pricing them at 4/5. A draw is 3/1 with William Hill while a Burnley victory is 18/5 at Betfair.

Predicted Score – 2-1 to Chelsea
