Chelsea are close to signing Leicester left-back Ben Chilwell for £50m, according to multiple reports in the English media.
It was initially believed that the Foxes were demanding upwards of £80m for the England international but it is thought that the club’s failure to finish in the Champions League places has led to them lowering their asking price.
Many supporters on Twitter were initially sceptical about paying so much for Chilwell but with the transfer looking like it will be significantly cheaper than first believed, some are now coming around to the idea:

Chelsea were always favourites to sign Chilwell and it appears they have now seen off any challenge from the likes of Manchester City or Manchester United for the 23-year-old.
Manager Frank Lampard has been very keen to sign a new left-back this summer, and he will be delighted to get his number one target if the deal is finalised.
