Brighton V Chelsea Team News And Predicted XI Plus Betting Odds

Most of Chelsea’s first team players will have had eight days rest heading into the game against Brighton on Sunday afternoon.

Out of those who started against Vidi last night, only Willian and Ross Barkley are likely to start the match at the Amex.

Manager Maurizio Sarri does have a couple of injury concerns ahead of the weekend. Alvaro Morata had to be taken off before halftime yesterday with a knee injury. It is not believed to be serious but the Spaniard is a major doubt for Sunday.

Mateo Kovacic had to be substituted in the 2-0 victory over Manchester City last weekend with a thigh injury, and it is not likely that he’ll be back in contention to face Brighton.

Gary Cahill missed the trip to Hungary on Thursday and is not expected to be fit for the weekend. Victor Moses (back) and Marco van Ginkel (knee) are still both out injured.

For Brighton, Glenn Murray is fit and available, along with Alireza Jahanbakhsh who is back to full fitness following a hamstring injury.

Jose Izquierdo is also likely to be back in the squad after recovering from a knee problem. Shane Duffy is suspended so Leon Balogun will start in the Irish international’s place.

The bookies have Chelsea as firm favourites and are 6/13 odds-on to win at Unibet. A draw is best priced at 15/4 with Bet365 while a Brighton victory is 15/2 at Betfred.

Chelsea’s Predicted XI To Face Brighton:

Kepa, Azpilicueta, Rudiger, David Luiz, Alonso, Kante, Jorginho, Barkley, Pedro, Giroud, Hazard

Brighton’s Predicted XI:

Ryan, Bruno, Dunk, Balogun, Bernardo, Propper, Gross, Kayal, Knockaert, Murray, Izquierdo

Predicted Scored – 3-0 to Chelsea
