Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has made massive changes to his squad this summer, having made six signings, with another two said to be in the works.

However, at least three won’t be available for the trip to the Amex to face Brighton on Monday with Ben Chilwell (heel), Hakim Ziyech (knee) and Thiago Silva (match fitness) all set to be absent from the squad.

Christian Pulisic and Cesar Azpilicueta are, though, expected to be fit, having played a part in training this week. Mateo Kovacic will be suspended for the game while Billy Gilmour remains out of contention with a knee injury.

Seagulls boss Graham Potter has made fewer changes to his squad with Liverpool’s Adam Lallana and Ajax’s Joel Veltman his only two major additions. He will be without goalkeeper Christian Walton who injured his ankle in the friendly against Chelsea, while there are doubts whether Davy Propper will feature after an Achilles injury.

Forward Florin Andone and winger Jose Izquierdo are both long-term absentees as they look to recover from serious knee injuries.

The bookies are very much favouring Chelsea for this encounter with William Hill pricing them at 13/20 for the win. A draw is 10/3 with Bet365 while a Brighton victory is 17/4 at Sky Bet.
