Blues fans torn on Gonzalo Higuain links

Chelsea fans are torn over reports that the Blues are set to land Juventus striker Gonzalo Higuain this summer.

The Argentine will reportedly be allowed to leave Turin this summer despite scoring 21 times in all competitions last season, with The Old Lady ready to listen to offers in the region of €55 million for his signature.

The Blues are on the hunt for a new striker after a disappointing season for Alvaro Morata, and could be ready to replace the Spaniard with Higuain.

Morata spent two years at Juve between 2014-2016, and the Serie A Champions are understood to be open to him returning to the to Allianz Stadium as a makeweight for Higuain’s proposed move to Stamford Bridge.

Rumours that Higuain will move to Chelsea this summer have been intensified by reports that the Blues will appoint Maurizio Sarri as the club’s new manager with Antonio conte expected to leave Stamford Bridge in the coming weeks.

Sarri and Higuain spent the 2015/16 season together at Napoli, with the Argentina international flourishing under 59-year-old manager – scoring 36-goals to smash the scoring record in the Italian top-flight.

Sarri has admitted seeing Higuain “like a son” and will likely make him his first transfer if he is appointed as Antonio Conte’s successor at Chelsea this summer.

At 30-year-old’s however, the Blues fans aren’t all convinced he is the right man to fire Chelsea back to Europe …
