Blues boss not worried about future

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte insists he is different to previous managers at the club, and says he is not worried about his future at Stamford Bridge.

Conte’s side stormed to victory in the Premier League last season and not many saw past them this year either, but it hasn’t gone quite so swimmingly.

The Blues find themselves 4th in the table and have received plenty of criticism for some of their performances, which includes a 2-1 loss to Crystal Palace. But despite various reports, the boss says he does not believe his job is under threat – saying also that his focus is on improving his team, not worrying about off-the-pitch issues.

“My worry is to try to improve my players, to work with them, to find the best solution for the club and to give satisfaction to the fans, because they deserve the best,” he told Sky Sports.

Asked about Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich visiting the training ground this week, Conte added: “It’s very strange to have this type of question…I think this question is about what happened in the past at this club.

“I am different. I am a different coach. A different person. I am not worried. I am not worried about this situation. I continue to do my job and my work. I think my club is satisfied with the work I am doing, a really fantastic job at Chelsea, but football is strange.

“When I finish my work here and I go to my home I am really satisfied with what I am doing with this club.

“During a season you have different moments, up and down, but you have to hope in a good team to have good stability.

“When you have these moments you have to find strength to overcome the difficulty and then to work together to improve the situation.

“It’s a normal moment for me. Every manager must be prepared to face every situation. In the league we have the points we deserve, we are very close to going through in the Champions League and we are in the Carabao Cup.

“The most important thing for me is the work, my job, and then to go to my house to be satisfied with my work.”
