Paris Saint-Germain could well “soften” their stance on Presnel Kimpembe‘s £55m asking price, according to CBS Sports reporter Ben Jacobs.
The journalist claims that Chelsea remain in “talks” to sign the 26-year-old but, while PSG could lower their demands, the Blues would still also need an agreement from the player:
The key to any deal is still in convincing Kimpembe, who is settled in Paris. If #CFC succeed, PSG are expected to soften a little on his £55m asking price. Clubs are still in talks. Deal not impossible but Kimpembe won’t be forced out. Galtier very happy with his pre-season.

This looks like a pretty complicated deal to complete. Kimpembe’s preference is to remain with the Ligue One champions and, with his coach also wanting to keep him, it seems unlikely that he will leave Paris.
There has been some speculation that Chelsea have enlisted the help of N’Golo Kante and Thiago Silva to persuade Kimpembe that joining Chelsea would be the right decision so, hopefully, he can be convinced.
At the moment, though, the only way you can see a transfer happening is if Chelsea agree a fee and Kimpembe feels like he is being forced out, but that isn’t exactly the ideal circumstances for bringing in a player.
