Chelsea “firmly believe” that they can sign Borussia Monchengladbach striker Marcus Thuram for just £8.5m during the January transfer window, according to CBS Sports reporter Ben Jacobs.
The Blues are prepared to make a move for the France international this month, but Jacobs believes that the forward has yet to decide which club he wants to join:

With Thuram’s current deal set to expire at the end of the season, he is already able to sign a pre-contract agreement with another team if he wishes. The likes of Arsenal, Newcastle and Manchester United have been mentioned as other potential suitors.
Chelsea are, though, hoping that he can be persuaded to make the switch to Stamford Bridge in January. With Armando Broja sidelined for the rest of the season with a knee injury, and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang already out of favour under manager Graham Potter, a new striker is required.
Thuram has already bagged 13 goals in all competitions for Gladbach this campaign so he would add some much-needed firepower to the London club’s attack.
