Bayern To Steal Unhappy Chelsea Star?

According to the Express, Bayern Munich will be making their move for Chelsea star Juan Mata in the upcoming summer and not in the current window, as the Spaniard will not be able to represent the Germans in the UEFA Champions League having already played in the competition with Chelsea.

Bayern are looking very comfortable in their pursuit of the Bundesliga title, and are only chased by second placed Bayer Leverkusen who are 7 points behind having played one extra game than the league leaders. They may add to their season with success in Europe, so any new signing will have to prove worthy of improving the star studded squad of Pep Guardiola. It seems Mata will most likely want to leave the club in search of a first team place, but Bayern will refrain from a move in the current window. The Spanish international cannot currently win a first team place with Jose Mourinho, and the situation has come to a point of frustration for the attacking midfielder.

However, with Chelsea’s domestic and European campaign, Mourinho would like to have an experienced candidate like Mata available on the bench for use. The latter half of the season will see players face injuries and suspensions which could keep them out for a while. It is very important for Mata to have first team minutes in these coming months for him to get a good shot at the Spain first team that takes on the FIFA World Cup in Brazil but he may not get those minutes with Chelsea.
