Bayern Chief Refutes Claims That Chelsea Star Is Close To Signing New Contract

Bayern Munich sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic has disputed claims made in the English media that Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi is close to signing a new contract.

There had been reports that the 18-year-old would sign a new five-year contract, worth £100,000 a week, but when asked about the news, Salihamidzic said Bayern don’t believe the England international is close to signing on the dotted line.

“You should not always believe everything that is said or written there.”

Whether Salihamidzic has some inside information regarding Hudson-Odoi’s future, it remains to be seen. Currently, the teenager has just 12 months left to run on his current deal at Stamford Bridge.

Bayern have a habit of signing high profile players on free transfers. Robert Lewandowski and Leon Goretzka both allowed their contracts to run down in order to move to the Allianz Arena.

Chelsea will be hoping to get Hudson-Odoi tied down to a new deal as soon as possible so he doesn’t fall in the Bundesliga giants’ clutches. Liverpool and Manchester United have also been linked with the teenager over the past few months.
