Batshuayi Responds To Claims He Could Make Chelsea Return In January

Michy Batshuayi has responded to reports that he could make an early return to Chelsea in the January transfer window.

The Belgian international is currently on a season-long loan deal at Valencia but he has struggled for form in front of goal.

When asked about cutting his time short in Spain, Batshuayi said he had no intention of leaving and is focused on helping his current side recover from a poor start to the season:

“Any talk of my departure from Valencia are just rumours. I have no issues with the club whatsoever and I have a strong understanding with the coach.”

“We are in a bad run of form and our only focus is to work on overcoming this slump.”

Valencia sit 15th in La Liga after 12 games. They have won twice, but they’ve only lost two games as well, with eight draws in total.

Batshuayi has scored just two goals in 15 appearances, making only seven starts. It’s a stark contrast to his last loan spell at Borussia Dortmund where he hit nine in just 14 games at the back end of the last season.

However, Valencia are struggling in front of goal in general. Los Che have scored just eight times, having failed to score on five occasions in the league this campaign.
