Chelsea centre-back Benoit Badiashile made a big impact as he was recalled to the starting lineup by Frank Lampard for the 3-1 win over Bournemouth at the weekend.

Since the interim manager’s appointment, the 22-year-old has barely got a look in, but he demonstrated what he can do with an excellent display at the Vitality Stadium. As well as getting on the scoresheet, Badiashile put up some impressive defensive numbers alongside Thiago Silva, and fans on Twitter believe the Frenchman has a big future ahead of him:

To be fair to Lampard, the switch to a back four made it difficult to include Badiashile, with the likes of Wesley Fofana also vying for a place in the starting eleven.

However, it should be pointed out that Badiashile had already impressed when partnering Silva after first arriving at the club in January. Based on Saturday’s display, the centre-half deserves to stay ahead of Fofana in the pecking order for now.
