Badiashile And Zakaria In, Koulibaly And Loftus Cheek Out: Chelsea’s Predicted XI To Face Southampton

Chelsea performed pretty well in the 1-0 defeat to Borussia Dortmund but their inability to find the back of the net was their Achilles heel once again.

They face Southampton this weekend, with the Saints still searching for a new manager after sacking Nathan Jones, so this should be the perfect time to play them.

Kepa Arrizabalaga will start in goal, while Reece James and Ben Chilwell are expected to keep their places in the two fullback positions. Despite performing well against Dortmund, Kalidou Koulibaly could make way for Benoit Badiashile, with the Frenchman partnering Thiago Silva in the centre of defence.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek has looked decent in the last couple of games, but Denis Zakaria may be recalled in midfield, with the Swiss international being able to give the Blues greater energy alongside Enzo Fernandez.

Despite the lack of goals, the absence of Raheem Sterling and Christian Pulisic means there are not a lot of options to change things. Mason Mount is out of form as well, while Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang doesn’t seem to be part of Graham Potter’s plans.

It means Joao Felix could start as the no.10, with Hakim Ziyech on the right, Mykhailo Mudryk starting on the left flank and Kai Havertz leading the line.

Chelsea’s Predicted XI To Take On Southampton:

Kepa, James, Silva, Badiashile, Chilwell, Zakaria, Fernandez, Ziyech, Felix, Mudryk, Havertz
