Ba Told He Can Leave Chelsea In The Summer

Ba is currently Mourinho’s third choice striker behind Fernando Torres and Samuel Eto’o. Despite scoring the sensational 1st goal vs Liverpool on Sunday, two invaluable winning goals against PSG in the Champions League quarter-final and Swansea in the league earlier in the month, he has been told that he can leave the club in the summer, according to the Chronicle Live.

The 28-year-old was signed by former Blues boss Rafael Benitez in January 2013 and scored six goals in 22 appearances in six months. He has gone on to score a further seven goals this season, but with Chelsea expected to sign a big name forward in the summer, Ba’s days at Chelsea seem to be numbered.

Newcastle United are linked with a move to resigning their former striker with doubts creeping over Loic Remy’s stay beyond the end of the season. Remy, on loan from QPR, has enjoyed a splendid season at St. James Park but he has made it clear he wants to play in the Champions League next season.

That could pave the way for Ba to return to Newcastle, although the Senegalese is also linked with a move to Rafael Benitez’s Napoli and French giants PSG.
