Chelsea defender Cesar Azpilicueta says he is confident the Blues will bring in more players before the end of the month.

Antonio Conte’s side slumped to a 2-1 defeat to Arsenal last night in the Carabao Cup semi-final – the sixth time they have failed to win in seven games in all competitions.

After a blistering start to the season, Chelsea have struggled since the turn of the year, and have subsequently been linked with a number of names this month as they look to bolster their squad.

AS Roma duo Edin Dzeko and Emerson Palmieri are widely believed to be on their way to Stamford Bridge, while West Ham’s Andy Carroll has also been linked with a move across London.

Azpiliceuta, who has been Chelsea’s stand-out player so far this season, believes the Blues will get their business done in the next few days.

“Every club in world in every transfer window tries to find the best solution for the team and I am sure we are working on it.” said the former Marseille star.

He continued: I am sure we are working on it the same as every team. We have signed Ross and I am sure we are trying to get the players who can improve the team.

“But we still have a few days to go – all those other teams have just done their business already.”

Chelsea welcome Newcastle to Stamford Bridge on Sunday as they look to record only their second win of 2018.
