Barcelona Weigh Up Move For Chelsea Right-Back

Chelsea captain Cesar Azpilicueta says the fact that the Blues have only come from behind once to win this season to win is “difficult to understand.”

The London club were seemingly in control against Everton at halftime yesterday but preceded to wilt in the second half when they came under the pressure from a resurgent Toffees.

Azpilicueta believes Chelsea must begin to show more resilience when the going gets tough in matches:

“The reality is that the numbers are there. From 30 games only one we came back (from behind to win) in the Premier League. It is frustrating.”

“It is not the first game where we played very well in the first half and we didn’t kill the game and then in the second half are in trouble from the first minute. It is difficult to understand how we cannot keep the consistency during the game and in the season as well.”

Despite the defeat at Goodison Park, the Blues remain just three points off Arsenal in fourth spot, but the loss has raised questions about Maurizio Sarri’s long term future at the club.

The Italian was again unable to explain the team’s poor mentality after they went a goal down early in the second half from Richarlison’s 49th-minute close-range strike.

They couldn’t regain their grip on the game, and after Marcos Alonso gave away the penalty for the second goal, the match looked out of their reach.
