Atletico Closing In On De Bruyne

Atletico Closing In On De Bruyne

Important transfers are expected this winter especially with the World Cup coming up fast, which will going to take place at the end of the season. Players will be looking to find new teams in order to prove themselves if they want to make it to Brazil. Some international team managers even insisted that players with little on pitch time are out of the question no matter how talented they are.

Chelsea’s Kevin De Bruyne is one of those players in danger of losing contact with his national team. According to manager Marc Wilmots, the young midfielder will have to sort out his problems with the Blues as soon as possible. The 22 year old is certainly not a big part of Mourinho’s current plan which means he will not get to play much until the end of the season. Even though Chelsea have chances of winning all the competitions in which they are currently involved, the young Belgian international has little hope as far as his future with the London club goes, it seems but injuries can change things.

According to ESPN, De Bruyne who had his best season while on loan in the Bundesliga is ready to join fellow compatriot Toby Alderweireld who is currently under contract with Atletico Madrid. Chelsea’s attacking midfielder had his best season while performing for Werder Bremen. He returned to Stamford Bridge hoping to make his way into the starting line-up. Even though both Mourinho and De Bruyne deny it, it appears there have been some problems between the two. The Portuguese manager hinted to the fact that he is unsatisfied with the way the Belgian international is handling training sessions. According to some rumors the 22 year old is not the most dedicated of players and behaves like a player no longer interested in performing for the Blues.

With that in mind it seems Atletico could take advantage of this situation especially considering the fact that Chelsea have already sent Courtois to Madrid a while back. The relationship between the two clubs is excellent which can facilitate the transfer. The fact that the Spanish side already has two Belgian internationals is another factor that could influence a possible move. Atletico however, will have to fight with Leverkusen for De Bruyne’s signature.
