Ashley Cole might not get a contract extension after one of his weakest seasons ever. The English international who insisted he wants to end his career playing for the Blues is looking more and more out of touch with Mourinho’s starting line-up. The 33 year old who just recently made an appearance in a Nike commercial in which he insisted on the fact that he is not finished yet, made another awkward decision this week which got fans talking.

According to Metro, Chelsea’s left-back attended Arsenal’s Christmas party with only a few days left until what is probably going to be the most important Premier League clash of the season so far. Mourinho’s side will face the Gunners tonight. The end result could decide which of the two teams who will be leaders at the end of the year.

Chelsea’s Portuguese manager spoke about Cole’s behavior but insisted that what happens during his player’s free time is none of his business as long as it does not affect his performance. Mourinho did not look very happy with what his left-back did but decided to bite his tongue probably because he did not want to add extra pressure to an already explosive clash.

When asked about what Chelsea will look like against Arsenal, Mourinho said he was certain Cole will start the game on the bench. It is not a big surprise considering he last made an appearance against Newcastle sometime in November.
