Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has said that Ben Chilwell is a major doubt for the game against Arsenal on Saturday. The 23-year-old sustained minor ankle ligament damage in the win over West Ham earlier this week and some reports suggest he could now be out until the New Year.

Reece James has a better chance of starting after being rested for the victory against the Hammers due to a knee problem. Hakim Ziyech is back in training and should be in the matchday squad this weekend after recovering from a hamstring injury.

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has said Gabriel Martinelli suffered a heavy knock in the 4-1 loss to Manchester City during the week. The Brazilian had only just returned from a serious knee injury and he is now unlikely to feature on Boxing Day.

Captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang sat out the City defeat due to a calf issue and he remains a doubt for the London derby, along with Martinelli. Thomas Partey is ruled out with a thigh injury but Granit Xhaka will return after serving his three-match suspension.
