Brighton are likely to demand as much as £90m for Chelsea target Moises Caicedo, according to reports in the English media.
Despite the Ecuadorian international publicly asking to leave, after the Seagulls rejected a £60m bid from Arsenal, it appears that the South Coast club won’t be giving in to player power.
However, Chelsea fans on Twitter don’t believe the club should be paying such a sizeable fee for Caicedo, with many believing they should focus on other options instead:
Nah Arsenal can have him then..

I’d rather bid £90m for Declan Rice

I say it again £55m was a fair enough price.

It is certainly true that the Blues haven’t been afraid of throwing money around during the January transfer window but you’d have to say it is unlikely that they’ll meet Brighton’s current valuation.
As some supporters have pointed out, if the Seagulls do want £90m for Caicedo, you might as well just pay a bit more and trigger Enzo Fernandez’s release clause instead.
The figures are pretty crazy but that seems to be the way things are heading in modern football, especially in January when clubs (like Brighton) don’t want to sell.
