The agent of Chelsea star Jorginho has said a return to Italy is still a possibility when asked about what the future holds for the midfielder at club level.
Speaking on Italian radio, Joao Santos did not put a timeframe on when the 27-year-old could leave Stamford Bridge but said the Italian international does have a strong desire to come back to Serie A before the end of his career:
“I think Jorginho can do very well at the Euros and, why not, also at the next World Cup. As for a return to Serie A, anything is possible, and he will always feel the desire to come back home.”
Jorginho is now vice-captain of Chelsea after manager Frank Lampard handed him the responsibility at the start of the season. He has been ever-present in the Premier League this campaign and has only failed to start one match in all competitions, having missed the Blues’ 7-1 win over Grimsby in the Carabao Cup last month.
The Brazilian born Italian has won over many of his critics this season after being encouraged by Lampard to be more forward-thinking and take more risks on the ball.
