Antonio Conte’s dream XI for next season

Chelsea are ready to join the race for Tottenham defender Toby Alderweireld, according to reports.

Antonio Conte is looking to bolster his defence going into his third season in charge of the club, and is understood to be a big fan of the Belgium international.

Alderweireld has made only 10 Premier League starts for Spurs this season amidst a number of injury problems, and is yet to put pen to paper to sign a new club at the club with Tottenham reportedly unwilling to match his £150,000 per week wage demands.

And stalls in the negotiations have opened the for a number of club’s – including Chelsea and Manchester United – to make a move for the highly rated Belgian.

The defender is understood to have a £25 million buy-out clause in his contract.

Chelsea are also expected to make a move for Alderweireld’s Belgium team-mate – Radja Nainggolan this summer.

The AS Roma star has been heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge over the past few years, but the deal could be finally set to go through with the midfielder keen to work under Antonio Conte.

Conte has previously described Nainggolan as one of the best midfielder in the world, however any move for the 29-year-old is likely to cost in excess of £50 million with Roma keen to hang on to one of their most prized assets.

So can Conte land his men? If so (and a few others) this what the Blues could line-up next season …
