Alvaro Morata breaks the silence on his Chelsea future amidst Juventus rumours

Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata says is ‘looking forward’ to next season at Stamford Bridge, all but ending speculation he could leave the club this summer.

Morata joined Chelsea last year as a club record signing from Real Madrid, however struggled to replicate the form he showed in Spain for Antonio Conte’s side.

The Spaniard scored just 11 Premier League goals and only twice in four months after Christmas – form that saw him left out of Spain’s World Cup squad and linked with a move back to another of his former club’s, Juventus.

Morata spent two seasons with Juve between 2014-2016, and rumours had emerged the Serie A champions were ready to take him back to Italy following a difficult first season at Chelsea.

The 25-year-old has previously remained silent on his future, however has now all but confirmed he will still be a Chelsea player come the start of next season.

In a post on Instagram, Morata published a picture of himself blowing a kiss to Chelsea supporters.

And in the caption he wrote: “Very excited to start again.

“The past was hard but that is only one more reason to begin fighting again.”
