Chelsea left-back Emerson Palmieri is being pursued by a number of clubs ahead of the January transfer window, according to his agent Fernando Garcia.

However, when asked whether the Italian international could be available on loan, Garcia said that Chelsea are demanding a fee from any interested party:

“Chelsea want to possibly monetise his sale, not having financial liquidity is a problem.”

Asked to elaborate on whether there had been any major interest in Emerson, Garcia confirmed that a number of clubs had made enquiries but he refused to reveal their names:

“Some clubs have already sounded him out, but I can’t reveal which ones. We haven’t discussed his price tag yet.”

Inter Milan and Napoli are thought to be the two main clubs in Italy who are keen on signing the player and it seems as though a departure next month is likely, as long as Chelsea’s demands are met.

Emerson has struggled for game time this season following the arrival of Ben Chilwell from Leicester for £50m and, with a place in Italy’s squad for the European Championships at stake, the former Roma player will almost certainly be actively looking to leave Stamford Bridge.
