The agent of Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud says he has not had any contact with Juventus about a possible switch to the Serie A champions this month.
Juve boss Andrea Pirlo has confirmed he would be interested in bringing the France international to Italy but Michael Manuello has revealed that the Italian club have not registered their interest in the player with him:
“Juve’s interest in Giroud? No, at the moment I’m not aware of the Bianconeri’s interest in Olivier.”
There had been speculation about Giroud’s potential departure in the January transfer window, but he has re-established himself as a regular starter under manager Frank Lampard in recent weeks.
It must be pointed out, though, that the 34-year-old’s current contract does expire in June and he is already able to openly discuss a free transfer at the end of the season with foreign clubs.
Whether Giroud signs a pre-contract agreement with another club or opts to sign an extension with Chelsea, we shall have to wait and see.
