Agent Of Barcelona Star Dismisses Claims Of Summer Switch To Chelsea

The agent of Barcelona midfielder Ivan Rakitic has dismissed reports that the Croatian could leave the Camp Nou in the summer.

Reports in Spain have suggested that Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain and Inter Milan are all interested in recruiting the 30-year-old.

However, Arturo Canales has refuted claims that Rakitic is heading for the exit door:

“Ivan wants to leave Spain in the summer? That’s impossible.”

Speculation over the Croatian international’s future has increased following the news that Frenkie de Jong will arrive from Ajax for £75m at the end of the season.

With de Jong and PSG’s Adrien Rabiot also possibly moving to the Catalan club, Rakitic may have to be satisfied with less game time next campaign.

Still, Rakitic is adamant that he wants to stay put with the midfielder having stated recently that he is waiting for Barca to open talks over a new contract. His current deal has two and a half years left to run.
