Chelsea centre-back Kurt Zouma has recovered from a poor start to the season to become one of manager Frank Lampard’s key men at the back, alongside Fikayo Tomori.
The Blues kept a clean sheet against Crystal Palace at the weekend, with the Frenchman playing a vital role in keeping the Eagles quiet. These two tackles in a space of a few seconds typified the defender’s display:

Supporters have been giving credit to Zouma for his performances in recent weeks:
Zouma za Rock.
Absolute beast mode on those tackles.
Another leader in this Class of super young talented stars at Chelsea.
The future is bright and we shall rule the EPL soon with this group.

Thanks to Lampard for believing in him, even when all of us wrote him off

It’s so easy for us to defend counters now and am guessing having CB’s faster than your fastest wingers helps

Certainly, the backline isn’t perfect. Chelsea have conceded 17 goals in 12 league games so far this campaign, but it was their third shutout in a row at home in the league against Palace.
There is definitely room for improvement but Zouma’s form seems to suggest that he will be a big asset for the club as the Blues go into a challenging run of fixtures.
They travel to Manchester City directly after the international break followed by an away trip to Valencia at the end of the month.
