Abramovich Allows Healthcare Staff To Stay For Free In Hotel As Chelsea Does Its Part In Coronavirus Fight

British NHS (National Health Service) staff will be allowed to stay free of charge at Chelsea’s Millennium Hotel, the club have confirmed.

Owner Roman Abramovich proposed the idea to help alleviate the pressure on doctors and nurses who are dealing with the Coronavirus pandemic.

It means that any healthcare professional working in North East London will be able to stay at the hotel without paying for the next two months.

Abramovich will fit the bill while NHS workers are staying at the hotel, and depending on the scale of the outbreak, the club is open to extending the limit beyond the two months as well as the catchment area from where staff can come from.

With the pandemic expected to get worse over the coming weeks, Chelsea and other football clubs are looking to do all they can to help out in a time of great peril for the local community.
