Abraham Wants Chelsea To Take Their “Anger Out” On Liverpool Following Champions League Loss

Chelsea forward Tammy Abraham is hoping the Blues take their frustrations out on Liverpool when they face the Premier League leaders on Sunday.

The 21-year-old said the players were fuming after losing at home to Valencia in the Champions League on Tuesday night, and he wants his teammates to channel their energy into winning their next game:

“(Sunday) is a test of character. We can take our anger out against Liverpool. It’s a massive game and both teams will be going to win. We’ll look forward to putting (last night’s defeat) right.”

Draws against Leicester City and Sheffield United in the league, combined with the defeat against Valencia, mean that Chelsea have yet to win at home under manager Frank Lampard.

Liverpool also head into the encounter off the back of a loss against Napoli, and the Blues should be confident considering how far they pushed the Reds in the UEFA Super Cup final last month.

Abraham, in particular, will be looking for revenge after missing the crucial penalty in the shootout in Istanbul, but the England international has certainly rebounded impressively from that setback in recent weeks.
