Chelsea are confident that N’Golo Kante will sign a new five-year contract in the next two to three months, according to reports in the UK.
It was initially reported in the summer that the Blues had offered the Frenchman £290,000 a week to stay at Stamford Bridge, but a deal has still not be finalised.
The delay prompted talk that Paris Saint-Germain would come in for the midfielder, while there have been more recent rumours that Manchester United could also look to bid for the player.
However, this latest news has eased the fears of Chelsea fans with many delighted that Kante looks set to commit his future to the club:
He must retire in a Chelsea shirt

The France international’s current contract runs until 2021 but despite having two and a half years left to go, the Blues have been keen to tie up the 27-year-old for the long term.
Since his arrival in a £32m transfer from Leicester City, Kante has been one of the club’s standout performers, and if he puts pen to paper on the new deal he will become Chelsea’s highest wage earner.
