Chelsea centre-back Thiago Silva has been pictured back on the training pitch at Cobham.
The Brazilian international hasn’t played since injuring his knee during the 2-0 defeat to Tottenham in late February and he was scheduled to return to action within six weeks. Silva seems to be almost bang on schedule in terms of his return date and fans on Twitter are keenly anticipating the defender’s first-team comeback:
A beautiful, hopeful sight.

The boost this man brings to the team and the coordination in defense is immense.

It’s unlikely that Silva will be available to start against Real Madrid due to the length of time that he has spent on the sidelines.
However, it is still excellent news for interim boss Frank Lampard, who will be keen to reintroduce the 38-year-old to the team as soon as possible.
Having someone of Silva’s experience available again should make the world of difference. His presence on the pitch will improve defensive organisation and help the younger players perform to the best of their ability.
