Chelsea have joined the race to sign Racing Genk midfielder Sander Berge, according to Goal.com. Liverpool and Napoli are also believed to be looking at the Norwegian international.
The 21-year-old is a defensive midfielder but at 6ft 5 he is an unconventional player with excellent technique and passing ability. Supporters on Twitter are excited by the prospect of Berge moving to Stamford Bridge:

It is believed that despite having Conor Gallagher and Billy Gilmour in the ranks, Chelsea would be open to signing another young midfielder.
Considering Berge has just 18 months left on his contract, and the fact that the Blues have a strong connection with Genk after signing Thibaut Courtois and Kevin De Bruyne, this story may have some legs.
Of course, any deal will depend on Chelsea’s appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport about their transfer ban. A verdict is expected to be made before the January transfer window.
