Hazard won’t commit to Chelsea until signings are made

Chelsea star Eden Hazard has admitted that he wants to know more about the club’s current uncertainty before deciding his future.

Hazard has been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge pretty much every summer since he signed from Lille in 2012, but this summer’s speculation has intensified somewhat due to uncertainty surrounding the Blues’ managerial situation.

Chelsea still have Antonio Conte as manager, but are constantly linked with potential successors such as Laurent Blanc and Zinedine Zidane, something which is clearly causing a lot of unrest at the club.

Last month, Hazard said that he would wait to see which players Chelsea sign this summer before making a decision on his future, and during a press conference ahead of Belgium’s friendly with Costa Rica he reiterated the same point, also mentioning his desire to know any managerial changes.

Asked if his decision to stay at Chelsea would be dependant on the managerial situation and the arrival of new players, Hazard said: “Yeah, I want to know.

“If we have something new, a manager or players, it is always good to know because I want to see which players can be at Chelsea next season. But, to be fair, the transfer market is not open yet, so we will see after.”

However, despite much speculation, Hazard insists he is currently focused on the World Cup.

“We had a bad season with Chelsea,” the 27-year-old said. “We won the FA Cup at the end, so it was a little bit better, but I am only focused on the World Cup. I let the board manage Chelsea in the best way they can.”
