5 Potential Chelsea Signings RATED: Who Could Come In Before The Transfer Deadline?

With the transfer window closing next Monday, clubs don’t have a great deal of time left to snap up players.

Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel says he is keen to bring in reinforcements before the deadline but, so far, no new additions to the squad have been made.

The Blues have been linked with a fair few players over the last few weeks and today, we will be assessing some of the potential signings that could take place.

Press the next page as we rate the likelihood of five transfers being completed this month.

Ousmane Dembele

The fact that Tuchel is a keen admirer of Dembele, and the Frenchman is also a big fan of his former Dortmund manager, suggests that there could be something in this one.

Whether it will happen before the end of the month, though, it is difficult to tell. Barca want to sell Dembele but the Blues may wait to sign him on a free transfer at the end of the season.

Sergino Dest

Reliable sources have confirmed that the Blues are actively pursuing the American international but only if they can’t recall Emerson Palmieri from his loan spell at Lyon.

Dest is said to be open to the prospect of leaving Barcelona if he isn’t given more game time by manager Xavi. With the 21-year-old capable of providing cover in both wingback positions, a deadline day cannot be ruled out.

Jules Kounde

A deal for the 23-year-old collapsed last summer when Chelsea refused to pay the player’s €80m release clause. At the time, there was some speculation that Thomas Tuchel’s side would revive their interest in January.

That hasn’t materialised so far, and it is now looking more likely that a move for Kounder may only happen when the current season ends.

Frenkie de Jong

Various reports in the Catalan media have mentioned that the Dutchman could be offloaded by Barca, with both the Blues and Manchester City being tipped as potential destinations.

It is unlikely that de Jong would be let go midway through the campaign, though. The only possibility of a deal happening now is if Barcelona need to get him off the wage bill to fund a bid for a new striker.

Aurelien Tchouameni

Chelsea have been pursuing the 21-year-old for well over a year and, despite interest from other Premier League clubs such as Manchester United and Liverpool, it is believed the Blues are in pole position to sign the player.

Any move for Tchoaumeni is unlikely before the summer, though, with Monaco keen on keeping hold of their player for the rest of the season.
