5 Facts About Endrick As Chelsea Become Frontrunners To Sign Brazilian Teenage Sensation

Chelsea are now leading the race to sign Palmeiras wonderkid Endrick, according to the Evening Standard journalist Nizaar Kinsella.

The Blues are said to have held “several” meetings with the young forward’s representatives recently and it looks as though they are pressing ahead to sign the player.

Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly Chelsea’s main rivals for Endrick, who has recently made his senior debut for Palmeiras.

Press the next page as we list five things that Chelsea supporters need to know about the Brazilian teenager.

1) His Talent Was Known From An Early Age

Endrick started playing football at the age of four, and it is claimed that his compilation videos on Youtube attracted the interest of professional clubs in Brazil.

Palmeiras eventually won the race for his signature in 2016 and he has been progressing through the team’s youth ranks since then.

2) Endrick’s Goalscoring Record At Youth Level Is Very Impressive

During his first five years at Palmeiras, the forward bagged 165 goals in 169 youth matches, and his outstanding record in front of goal meant he was already attracting interest from Europe.

At international level, Endrick has also stood out, having scored five in his last four appearances for Brazil’s Under 17 side.

3) He Has Made An Immediate Impact At Senior Level

Endrick only made his first-team debut for Palmeiras back in October but, despite having made just one start in his five appearances for the Brazilian Serie A side so far, he has already scored three times and provided one assist.

The teenager looks ready to be a regular starter despite his lack of experience and that suggests he could have a very bright future at senior level.

4) Endrick Has All The Qualities To Become A Superstar

The 16-year-old has an excellent first touch, and he is very strong in tight spaces. That ability allows him to escape the clutches of opposition defenders, but it does mean that he gets fouled quite a bit.

Endrick’s pace and dribbling ability make him a difficult player to mark, and the fact that he can finish his chances as well means he is destined for the very top.

5) He Will Cost A Sizeable Transfer Fee

Brazilian footballers can’t leave their homeland until they turn 18, but there is a clause in Endrick’s contract with Palmeiras which means he can be signed for €60m (£52m).

Even if Chelsea pay the release fee and the player agrees a move to Stamford Bridge, Blues supporters would still have to wait until July 2024 to see him in action.
