Would Chelsea Benefit From This Real Madrid Deal?

Chelsea started the season well against West Ham and despite a late win, managed to put out a good vibe regarding what is to come. There were some things to think about though especially when it comes to constructing the attack. The Blues lacked someone who can take out adversaries with some precise passing skills. Oscar played a decent game but looked a bit out of touch given the lack of playing time from last season. Fabregas would have been the alternative but Conte kept him on the bench throughout the entire game. The reason behind that seems to be the fact that the Spaniard is no longer part of the new manager’s plans or he felt Cesc still needs a rest after the Euro’s. As we previously mentioned he was already considering a move even before the first game of the season. Knowing how adamant the midfielder is when it comes to his place in the starting eleven, there is a big chance he will not be around by the beginning of September. According to Metro, he made contact with Real Madrid, news that spawned a new scenario. Fabregas might not be the subject of a simple transfer but of a swap between the two giants.

It might be a good moment for Chelsea to make a move on James Rodriguez, who is rumored to have become Zidane’s 3rd choice when it comes to building the starting lineup. If what is speculated is true, Conte might just make an offer. The Blues might get the Colombian for a decent price as well given his lack of games and the fact that Fabregas is still worth a lot of money. Rodriguez could provide much more support for the attack as he is able to play behind the striker. Rumors regarding the young Colombian’s departure were circling Madrid for a while so maybe it is time they get some substance. With Rodriguez behind Batshuayi or Costa and with one more defender, Chelsea will have surprise many if they don’t finish top 3 this season.
