Will Chelsea Bring In Big Names This Winter?

The Blues have had some rough starts in the past but nothing like this. No one expected a stuttering start from a team that dominated the Premier League last season. They had an almost perfect year setting record after record. Players like Terry and Ivanovic impressed with every match and turned Stamford Bridge into a fortress. Things seem to have changed a little now and Chelsea are 17th just above the last three teams on the bottom of the PL but it is a false position as the team have had more than their share of bad luck as any mistakes seem to have to led to goals against them.

It might be very difficult to change the squad before the Winter transfer window and no-one expected this start especially after bringing in Pedro who, honestly is a pretty sweet addition to the team. The problem might be resolved by bringing in a few new players wanting to prove themselves. Apparently according to Metro, Chelsea will target three new footballers during the next transfer period.

The first and most important is Paul Pogba. This might mean Fabregas could be moved down the pecking order. Pogba next to Matic would be an amazing improvement. The problem is that Juventus will hold on tight to their star Frenchman and big money will have to be spent.

The second and third players who could join Chelsea are Jose Gaya and former Barcelona man, Victor Valdes. After missing out on any defensive target Mourinho might have had, the Blues will be pushing to sign 20 year old Jose Gaya from Valencia. The youngster is also targeted by Real which will make things more complicated. Valdes will likely have to wait until the last minute as his transfer is dependent on Courtois and his health status.
