Who Will Be Chelsea’s Next Veteran Striker?

Chelsea are on the market for a new striker who needs to replace club legend Didier Drogba. There have been a lot of rumors regarding who will be the next big name to move to Stamford Bridge. Even though there are a lot of options on the market and players like Cavani, Higuain or Lacazette may be available to buy, chances are Mourinho will sign yet another veteran to help the club for the next season or two. The question is, who will be good enough and willing to join Chelsea on a 1 year contract as per the club’s policy regarding players over 30.

The first name that comes to mind but could probably be a tough signing to make is Zlatan Ibrahimovic. According to the Daily Express, the Swedish international has had a fallout with PSG and is no longer wanted in Paris. Mourinho on the other hand has always been an admirer of the 33 year old striker and might be tempted to offer him a deal.

The second striker who could move at Stamford Bridge is Adebayor. The 31 year old might be tricky to sign though as he is 31 and would probably prefer a valid contract for the next couple of years rather than just for one season. There are a bunch of other players over 30 who could join Chelsea for one year but none of them look as influential as Ibrahimovic and Adebayor. The list could include Benfica’s Lima who had a decent season with his team or even Trabzon’s Oscar Cardozo who scored 18 goals and made 6 assists this season. Who do you think Chelsea’s next veteran striker should be?
