Which Players Could Come And Go?

It`s no secret that some of Chelsea’s players will be leaving this summer. Every manager brings his own talent to a club and apparently, there are players who will not risk spending another year trying to convince Conte that they are worthy of a spot in the starting eleven. It’s not all bad news as the players who are rumored to be on their way, have a certain market value, a market value Chelsea could use in their favor. Two of the names that could really help the Blues balance out their budget and even convince possible targets to move to Stamford Bridge are Oscar and Obi Mikel. According to Metro, both are close to agreeing to terms with other clubs, clubs that could also provide reinforcements for Antonio Conte’s new line-up.

First, let’s talk about Oscar who has been linked to Juventus for almost a year now. The Brazilian lost his spot in the starting eleven under both Mourinho and Hiddink. The latest gossip even shows the midfielder liking an Instagram post that mentioned his arrival in Torino. As recent history has shown, such gestures often point to actual deals getting done. Leaving that aside, who could Chelsea get by involving Oscar in a deal with Juventus?

Honestly, I would go for Paul Pogba but he seems like he is strictly unavailable. Two other players are young, promising and would fill in some gaps Chelsea need to fill by next season. Morata would be great competition for Costa who will probably remain the sole striker in June. Rugani would be a great substitute for either Cahill or Zouma. The Blues need both just as much given the fact that Zouma is back in this fall and Terry has yet to get an extension. Remy and Falcao are also very likely to leave so buying both Juventus players would be a massive success. Unfortunately, Morata will cost just as much as Oscar meaning that money will be spent.

Secondly, there’s Obi Mikel who is apparently close to signing a deal with Valencia. Unfortunately, his market value is not that high. Still, being in good terms with the Spanish side could help Chelsea sign one of two very tempting targets.

First there’s Shkodran Mustafi. This 24-year-old Germany international would be a good fit for the defense. He could have the chance to prove himself until Zouma returns and if things go well, even pair up with the Frenchman in the near future. The other option for Chelsea would be to push for Paco Alcacer. Spain’s rising star is expensive but he would sure be an excellent competitor for Costa.
