van Ginkel Completes Milan Loan Switch

Chelsea midfielder Marco van Ginkel has succumbed to the desire of playing first team football, and has successfully completed a season long loan switch to Italian giants AC Milan, after the Blues signed several new midfielders in the recent past, according to the Daily Mail.

The Blues have been busy in the transfer window, and have brought in the likes of Cesc Fabregas, who has taken the responsibility of driving the midfield. Another player that the club signed was Nemanja Matic, who left the club for greener pastures earlier in his career, and was resigned from Benfica after making an impression in the defensive midfield. The left footer has been accomplished in midfield and has been accurate with his passes, and his potential partnership with right footed Fabregas has excited Chelsea supporters.

van Ginkel is a young central midfielder who attracted interest from all over Europe, with the best teams across the continent trying to lure the player away from Vitesse. Chelsea were successful in doing so, but the player has had a frustrating spell at the club and could not break through into the starting eleven through unfortunate injury and a resulting loss of form. The 21-year old has just made 4 appearances for the club in all competitions, clearly not enough to satisfy a young player eager to prove his talent. The Dutchman will be joining his Chelsea team-mate Fernando Torres, who has also completed a similar loan switch to the San Siro.
