The former Liverpool striker Fernando Torres was linked with a return to the Premier League just six months into his two-year loan deal with Milan. Things have not gone according to plan for Torres, who has struggled to adapt at Milan and has failed to find any sort of form.

He has scored just one league goal in ten games for the Rossoneri and was completely left out of the squad as Milan beat Napoli 2-0 a week ago on Sunday.

Speculation has been rife that the forward will return to England in January but Milan administrator Adriano Galliani played down such suggestions, according to Sky Sports. He said, “I don’t think he (Torres) will leave, even if the market is unpredictable.”

He added, “Torres has been unlucky. He has struggled with injuries and is coming from a different league. We need to be patient. He is important and will probably return (to top form).”
